-Professional since I have had as a profession (work) to install, configure, manage and secure (harden) Windows systems ever since 1997.

-Specialist as I chose to specialize in only Windows, specifically Windows security & in anti-virus since 1997.

I started as an IT-consultant at EDS Nordic in 1997 and was 100% leased to a medical-technical company where I worked with help desk, (user support)
In addition to handling support cases and solving the computer problems that the more than 400 users sought help with I was responsible for installing all their computers.
I created installation templates to install these computers, and in 2003 these templates formed the basis of WinGuider's UNIQUE installation manuals

Around the year 2000, I became employed by a government agency, where I was almost immediately thrown into administering the anti-virus protection for the more than 17,000 computers (and 1000+ servers).
This work gave me the chance to study all sorts of different viruses, trojans and other infections that crept into the computers. I also attended training in how virus & virus protection works, how the different types of malware are structured and how different malwares work and how they attack computers.

In addition to managing the anti-virus programs, investigating malware and attacks, I was involved in installing various other security features such as WEB-filters, Next generation firewalls, I was also involved and a driving force in procurements for antivirus, web filtering, etc. I build a LAB for tests of antivirus products as well as a lab for forensic analysis of various malware. The IT forensic lab I built up consisted of, among other things, specially hardened, stand-alone computers that collected the malware that the antivirus failed to find and handle on the work computers. Special extra hardened computers were later used to use genuine IT forensic software to investigate everything from infestations to lots of other things.
The installation guides and associated professional help files that I created to automate these hardened computers were basically based on WinGuider's installation manuals.

During the more than 25 years that I have worked with IT security, protection against malware and other threats and specifically with investigating malware that the antivirus had missed, and by the procurements I was able to test different antivirus products on a professional level. This all gave me a good insight into how well or poorly different antiviruses actually work.
